Staff email, the customer screen, and several counters

A staff email is a dashboard login, not a new till. The customer screen follows the shop. Extra TVs are mirrors. A supermart with several queues is not this yet.

One shop has one live counter. People join that shop with an email or a till PIN. They do not each get a checkout of their own.

Team is who can open the dashboard. That is the staff email. It is not a second checkout.

The pictures use a demo cafe called Himal Beans. Nabin, Sabina, Prakash and Maya are placeholder names, so each screen is easy to follow.

What is a staff email for

A staff email is a second login into your shop, so you do not hand out your password. They sign in at pasal.studio/login with the exact address you typed, and they see the tabs you ticked. Pack orders, add a product, take a return. You can take that access away without changing your own password.

Who works here. Prakash has an email and has not signed in yet. Nabin Gurung can open Orders, Products and Sales. These are placeholder people on the demo cafe.
The Add staff sheet: email, name, an optional till PIN, and ticks for what they may useThe Add staff sheet: email, name, an optional till PIN, and ticks for what they may use
Add staff. The email is how they reach this dashboard. The optional PIN is how the till names them. Same person can have both.

They must not press Create your shop. That starts a second shop, disconnected from yours. The invite is how they join yours. An address that already runs its own shop cannot join: the row reads Cannot join. Ask them for a second address. See Add staff and choose what they see.

Staff accounts are a Pro tool. On the free plan the shop runs on the one owner login.

What is a till PIN for

A PIN is who is ringing. Nabin taps his name, types his code, and the sale is named Nabin. He never has to see Orders or Settings. That is a cashier.

After the name. Type the PIN. Not you goes back to the names.

Nabin is on this till. The chip reads COUNTER : Nabin. Tap it to hand the counter to Sabina.

Same person can have both: an email so they can work the dashboard, a PIN so the till knows it is them when they ring. How to set a PIN is under Ring a sale at the counter. Who took money today is the Staff tab.

If Nabin set up the customer screen and Sabina rings

It still works. The customer screen belongs to the shop, not to Nabin. Sabina's bill appears on it. Stay on that screen. If it is sitting on the dashboard home, it is not listening.

If Sabina already opened a customer screen from her login

Same shop, same screen. Two customer screens are two mirrors of one bill, not two bills. Whoever rang last is what the TVs show. Sabina ringing on Nabin's computer still writes that one bill.

Can a cafe have more than one customer screen

Yes, as mirrors. A TV plugged into the till, and an iPad facing the queue, show the same bill. Open Customer screen on each device and leave them there.

At rest. Himal Beans is the demo cafe. Photographs from Marketing play until somebody rings.
The customer screen showing Maya Gurung's bill: two cappuccinos and an almond croissant, with points before and after
A live bill. Maya Gurung is a placeholder customer. Her phone is not on this screen.
The customer screen on Please pay, with an eSewa QR and the amount
Please pay. If eSewa, Khalti or Bank QR is saved on Shop profile, they scan from where they stand.
The customer screen headed Sent to Table 4, Nothing has been paid yet, with Maya Gurung's cappuccinos and croissant
After Send. Extra TVs all show this same bill. Maya Gurung is the placeholder customer.

How to open that window, and what it shows when you send to a table, is under Ring a sale at the counter. Photographs for the idle screen live on Marketing. This is not the TV board for the kitchen.

Several counters and several staff

Several people can have PINs. Several people can have emails. There is still one live till for the customer screen. A second computer can take money into the same shop. Do not put a customer screen on it. Held bills stay on that computer.

A shopping mall

Each shop is its own Pasal shop, with its own catalog, its own till, and its own books. The jewellery counter is not on the cafe's till. An account runs one shop, so the jeweller signs up with their own email.

A supermart with several checkouts

That is several queues in one shop. Pasal does not give each lane its own customer screen yet. One live checkout. Extra people are PINs, not extra shops. Extra TVs are mirrors of that checkout.

Close the day on that one till, against that one drawer. Close the day adds up the whole shop's cash. A second till would say the drawer is short by the other lane's notes.

Does each staff email get its own counter

No. Email is who can open the dashboard. PIN is who rang. Neither is which queue the customer is standing in.

  1. Add staff and choose what they seeTwo lists: a PIN for the till, or an email for this dashboard.
  2. See who rang at the counterToday and this week, named from the till and from signed-in New orders, with a total for each person.
  3. Ring a sale at the counterOpen the counter, build a bill, take cash or QR, and hand over a receipt.
