About Chautari Coffee

A chautari is the resting platform under a tree at the side of a hill road, and that is the whole idea: somewhere to stop rather than somewhere to arrive. Prakash Gurung opened it in 2017 with one machine and a chalkboard, and still writes the board himself at seven every morning. The beans are Nepali, the roaster is in Patan, and the grinder is set fresh for every order because he refuses to argue about it.
