Today: mutton on the bone, and the last of the Rara trout
Jhamsikhel

We cook what the market gave us.

A short list we can always make, and a longer one that depends on what came off the truck at five. Ask what is good today; the answer changes.

About Bhansa Ghar

Bhansa is the kitchen, and in most Nepali houses it is the room nobody redecorates. Sita Rai cooked for other people's restaurants for eleven years before taking a room of her own in 2020, and she still goes to Kalimati at five rather than send anyone. The menu is written on butcher paper every morning because the alternative is printing something she cannot honestly cook.
