An akhada is the earth-floored pit where Nepali towns settled things, and the name is not a joke about branding: this is a room for hard work with nothing in it that is not used. Bikash Thapa competed for six years, coached for nine, and opened the room in 2018 with eight barbells and no sound system. There are twenty-two barbells now and still no sound system.
